The Georgia Tech women's and men's track and field teams placed second and third Friday at the Samford Invite at the Birmingham CrossPlex. The women totaled 79 points on the day, less than two points back from winner Western Carolina, and the men tallied 61 points, six less than second-place finisher Samford.
